The Ricoh GR Digital is the digital successor of the Ricoh GR, and like its predecessor it has been designed with one goal in mind: image quality. It is a job that the GR Digital does very well, keeping aberrations and purple fringing to a minimum, while offering the experienced photographer plenty of manual settings to optimize and adjust the shooting result even further. The GR Digital has a fixed lens, meaning there is no optical zoom, which makes the camera suitable for the purist advanced photographer who wants uncompromising image quality in a wide angle format.

The Ricoh GR Digital scored 9 out of 10 points overall in this review, with 10 out of 10 points for image quality.

They write:
“Ricoh has produced something unique, a compact camera that will satisfy even the most demanding enthusiast. Its combination of compact portability, robust build quality, superb handling, creative control and fantastic picture quality should make it a firm favourite among keen photographers, especially the travel photographers who loved the original GR film camera. An expensive camera, especially for the whole kit, but well worth the money.”
