The Canon PowerShot S3 digital camera has been reviewed at CNet.
The Canon PowerShot S3 is an ultra zoom camera with a 12 times optical zoom lens, 6 megapixel resolution and a 2 inch LCD display. The PowerShot S3 is also equipped with optical image stabilization, allowing you to make use of the full zoom range without the use of a tripod and still being able to produce sharp, not blurred, results. Another important feature is the rotating LCD display, which is useful for self portraits, as well as extreme angle shots. Manual exposure control is also available, giving advanced photographers greater control over the image taking process.
The PowerShot S3 scored 7.7 out of 10 points, a ‘very good’ rating.
The review results:
“The good: Fast and responsive; comfortable design; decent movie capture; flip and twist LCD; fast, high-quality lens with effective optical image stabilization.
The bad: Tiny LCD; lacks raw support; faux wide-screen capture.
The bottom line: A very well-executed megazoom camera, the Canon PowerShot S3 IS reminds you why dSLRs still have competition for photo enthusiasts’ hearts.”
