A review of the Sony DSC H2 digital camera has been published at cameras.co.uk. The Sony Cybershot DSC-H2 is a 12x optical zoom camera, with 6 megapixels resolution and a 2 inch LCD display. Image stabilization to reduce the effects of camera shake is also available.
The results of the review:
“Points I like:
Sharp images
Low shutter lag
Picture quality
Easy to use considering the features
Where it is not so hot:
Noise problems at ISO 400
Build quality a shade below the Canon Powershot S3 IS
Summary
I really like the Sony DSC H2. It was difficult for me to think of anything that really put me off the camera. It takes a very sharp photo with good colours. With low shutter lag times this camera is a winner in my view. Recommended.”

A review of the Sony Cybershot DSC-W70 digital camera is available at Steve’s Digicams. The Sony W70 offers 7.2 megapixels resolution, a large 2.5 inch display and a 3x optical zoom.
The review conclusion:
“The Sony Cyber-shot W70 is a good all-around performer. Weighing-in at just under 6 ounces (including battery and Memory Stick Duo), the W70 is both pocketable and stylish while still providing the optical viewfinder that its competitors frequently omit. With very good image quality, 7-megapixels of resolution, versatile sensitivity range, high-quality movies and an MSRP of under $300, the Sony DSC-W70 is a very good value, just the camera to send your child off to college with.”

Imaging resource have reviewed the Sony Cybershot DSC-W100 digital camera. The ultra compact Sony Cybershot W100 offers 8 megapixel resolution, a 3x optical zoom and a 2.5 inch display. A high ISO 1250 sensitivity mode enables the W100 to shoot in low light conditions and helps reduce blurred image results. Catering to both point and shoot photographers as well as photographers requiring greater control over the image taking process, the Cybershot DSC-W100 offers automatic exposure control, scene modes, as well as full manual controls.
The results of the review:
“The large, bright 2.5-inch color LCD monitor is excellent for framing and reviewing shots, and the overall design and layout of the DSC-W100 is user-friendly and hassle-free. Dimensionally it’s not too small and not too big, not too slim or too fat. Its size allows for both an optical viewfinder and a big LCD, as well as a good fit in the hand and pocket. We were particularly impressed with the printed output from the W100, which included enlargements up to 13×19 with decent quality, and 8×10 prints at ISO 800. Performance at ISO 400 is now quite good by comparison, with output at 11×14 looking like yesterday’s 8×10s at this size. If you’re looking for a good “take anywhere” camera with great versatility and good color and tonality, the Sony DSC-W100 deserves a close look — especially considering its high resolution CCD and low price point. The Sony W100 is a clear Dave’s Pick.”

A review of the Sony Cybershot DSC-H5 ultra zoom camera is available at DigitalCameraInfo. The Sony Cybershot DSC H5 is a 7.2 megapixel ultra zoom camera with a long 12 times optical zoom. Using optical image stabilization the risk of blurred photos is reduced, for example when shooting without a tripod using the full zoom range. With its full manual controls the Sony Cybershot H5 will be suitable to more advanced photographers, however its scene modes and automatic shooting mode make it equally appealing to point and shot photographers.
The review results:
“The Sony Cyber-shot DSC-H5 has a great feature set that includes 7.1 megapixels, a Carl Zeiss Vario-Tessar 12x optical zoom lens, an optical image stabilization system, and full manual functionality. This digital camera has the lure of a sexy compact, with its enormous 3-inch, 230,000-pixel LCD monitor and its seven simple scene modes. It also draws design elements from DSLRs such as the protruding viewfinder, chunky measurements, and expanded ISO range. Perhaps one of its best features is an optical image stabilization system, which works wonders in keeping the shakes to a minimum in movie mode and helps keep still images from blurring. This image stabilization system is not a want, but a necessity.
The Sony H5 is not without flaws though. All of its goodness comes at a price – and the $499 retail isn’t the worst of it. The large LCD screen and excellent stabilization system are great, but they suck the AA batteries dry too quickly.”

A review of the 7.2 megapixel, 12x optical zoom Sony Cybershot DSC-H5 is available at CNet.
The Sony DSC-H5 achieved a ‘very good’ review result, with 7.2 out of 10 points.
The conclusion of the review:
“The good: 12X zoom; image stabilization; solid selection of accessories.
The bad: Large body; lots of noise at ISO 800 and above; no hotshoe.
The bottom line: Advanced amateurs who find dSLRs too bulky will like the Sony Cyber Shot DSC-H5’s versatility but lament the noise at higher ISOs.”

A review of the Sony Cybershot DSC-H5 has been published at DCRP. Featuring a massive 12x zoom lens and 7.2 megapixel resolution, the Sony DSC H5 is interesting ultra zoom camera. It is also equipped with a large 3 inch LCD monitor and optical image stabilization.
Here is part of the review conclusion:
“Even with a few flaws, the Sony Cyber-shot DSC-H5 is still one of the best ultra zoom cameras on the market. It offers a high resolution sensor (with low noise levels through ISO 400), a 12X zoom lens, optical image stabilization, and an enormous 3-inch LCD display. Downsides are few, and they include above average purple fringing and a so-so continuous shooting mode. […] The DSC-H5 has the same Super SteadyShot image stabilization system that proved itself on the original DSC-H1, and it works well here too. […] Photo quality was very good for the most part. The H5 took well-exposed photos with nice color, pleasing sharpness, and low noise levels through ISO 400. […]
All-in-all, the Cyber-shot DSC-H5 is a very good ultra zoom camera, and one that I can recommend. The competition is fierce in this category, and I strongly recommend looking at the competition (listed below) as well. Try them all out and see which one you like using the most!”

A review of the Sony Cybershot T30 digital camera has been posted at DPInterface. The Sony T30 is an ultra compact digital camera with 7.2 megapixels resolution, a very large 3 inch LCD display and 3x optical zoom. The Cybershot T30 is also equipped with optical image stabilization and high ISO sensitivity to reduce the effects of camera shake and to enable low light shooting.
The conclusion of the review:
“Despite the large 3 inch LCD which has good visibility and the strong flash when using high ISO values, the Sony Cyber-shot T30 has excellent battery life - the best among the small cameras with 3 inch LCD and third place in the overall ultra-compact class. […]
The Sony T30 has an excellent 1 cm macro mode but overall does not have any manual controls. And while its movie mode is excellent, there aren’t any zoom or focus features while recording. […]
In case you haven’t gotten the point yet, I like the Sony Cyber-shot T30 (very much!). While it’s not the perfect ultra-compact, it is perfect for most shooting conditions. It’s a great overall camera and I highly recommend it to those who want pocketable performance. Now, just toss in a faster lens, some manual controls, faster performance & buffer and better movie mode in the next T-series!”

A review of the Sony Cybershot H5 digital camera is available at DPInterface. The Cybershot DSC-H5 is a digital SLR like camera with a 12 times optical zoom and a focal length of 36mm to 432mm, 35mm equivalent. It features a very large 3 inch LCD monitor and despite its long zoom range, it’s capable of taking close up shots with a minimum distance of 2cm.
The review results:
“Sony’s high-end ultra-zoom, the H5 does a pretty good job as an ultra-zoom with 7 megapixels, full manual controls and a 3 inch LCD. The camera is nicely built and looks professional - heck, some people even asked me if it was Sony’s new digital SLR! […]
While it has full manual controls, compatible with many accessories and a useful jog dial, this is probably not a camera for sports or action shooting. […]
Overall image quality was good and impressed me much and I’d be more than happy to recommend this camera to anyone who wants a big zoom camera with manual controls. Despite that, the Sony H5 does not have the ultimate control or super speed which may put off sports photographers or speed fanatics (like me). Oh yes, one more thing - is the H5 a better deal than the H2? It definitely is.”

DigitalCameraReview have reviewed the Sony Cybershot DSC-H2 ultra zoom camera. The Cybershot DSC-H2 is equipped with a 12x optical zoom lens, 6 megapixels resolution, a 2 inch display and image stabilization technology.
The review results:
“The Sony Cyber-shot DSC-H2 is a solid offering in the ultra-zoom digital camera field. It takes good images at 6 megapixels and has a nice lens with good image stabilization. The flash is one of the most powerful that I’ve seen on a point and shoot camera - able to completely illuminate a completely dark room. Even with the nice flash, Sony’s Super SteadyShot image stabilization system allows you to shoot without a flash.
Some of the camera controls were not completely comfortable for me, but it also had plenty of dedicated buttons to easily access the most common functions (like focus modes and exposure compensation).”

DCRP have reviewed the Sony Cybershot DSC-T30 an ultra compact digital camera with 7.2 megapixels resolution, a very large 3 inch LCD display and 3x optical zoom. The Cybershot T30 is also equipped with optical image stabilization and high ISO sensitivity. Both help to keep picture blur to a minimum when shooting in low light conditions or speed object, or simply when camera shake occurs.
The review summary:
“The LCD is big, high resolution, and easy to see indoors and outside. […] Like all of the T-series cameras, the DSC-T30 is a 100% point-and-shoot camera. […]
Camera performance is excellent in almost all areas. The T30 starts up in a little over a second, focuses very quickly, and shutter lag was not a problem. Battery life was superb for an ultra-compact camera, and the USB 2.0 High Speed support will quickly transfer those big photos and movies to your PC. The only disappointment in this area was the burst mode, which chugs along at just 1.1 frames/second.
Photo quality was very good in most situations. The T30 typically took well-exposed photos with accurate color and low noise levels. […]
If you want an ultra-compact camera that offers style, performance, image stabilization, and a huge LCD display then the Sony Cyber-shot DSC-T30 is for you. It’s not for people who want manual controls or those who shoot under unusual lighting — but for everyone else, this little camera is well worth your time.”
