Cameras.co.uk have posted a review of the Sony Cybershot DSC T30, an ultra compact digital camera with 7.2 megapixel resolution, a 3x optical zoom and a large 3 inch display.
The review verdict:
“The Sony DSC T30 is a very strong camera when it comes to picture quality. Throw in ease of use, pocket size, large LCD screen and a stylish design and you have a real winner. The big drawback is the price. There are better value for money options available, but if you are happy to spend the money then you will not go far wrong with the DSC T30.”

CNet have reviewed the Sony Alpha DSLR-A100, a 10.2 megapixel DSLR camera with interesting features such as optical image stabilization, compatible with a wide range of lenses, thanks to the camera’s Konica Minolta legacy. The A100 also features a dust reduction system that removes dust caught between the lens and the image sensor.
CNet rate the Sony A100 a “very good” camera, with out of 10 points.
The review impressions:
“The good: 10.2 megapixels; in-camera image stabilization; eye-start autofocus.
The bad: ISO tops out at ISO 1,600; auto white balance is warm with tungsten light.
The bottom line: Sony’s Alpha DSLR-A100 deserves consideration whether you’re looking for an alternative to Canon and Nikon, you already own a selection of Maxxum AF lenses, or you’re looking for your first digital SLR.”

Camera Labs have published their test of the Sony Alpha A100, a 10.2 megapixel DSLR camera that is compatible with A-mount lenses. The Alpha A100 is equipped with optical image stabilization and Sony’s Anti Dust technology that shakes dust particles off the image sensor.
Camera Labs highly recommends the Sony Alpha A100:
“There’s no denying Sony’s Alpha DSLR-A100 is an impressive camera for the money. Simply having 10.2 Megapixel resolution and built-in anti-camera-shake is enough to elevate it beyond most budget digital SLRs. Throw in a high resolution 2.5in screen and some neat image processing options, along with a kit lens which zooms-in further than the competition, and it’s looking even stronger. […]
But it’s not all good news. Increasing resolutions on sensors with the same surface area always raises concerns over higher noise levels, and as our results show, the A100 is noticeably noisier than rivals like Canon’s EOS-350D / Rebel XT, particularly at 800 ISO and above. […] To be fair, most people will shoot below 400 ISO, where the A100 performs well […].
For now, even with our caveats, the Sony Alpha DSLR-A100 becomes the best value digital SLR on the market.”

Imaging resource have posted a review of the Sony Cyber-shot DSC-H5, a 12x ultra zoom camera that comes with optical image stabilization.
The review result:
“The Sony H5 provides more manual exposure control than many other long zoom digital cameras, yet is easy to use in full-auto mode, and its seven pre-programmed scene modes help with tricky subjects. […] The Sony DSC-H5 is fairly fast on the draw, with faster than average shutter response, a smooth and responsive zoom, and very good shot-to-shot cycle times. Optical quality is very good, but we were disappointed with the high chromatic aberration and softness in the corners at telephoto; that’s part of the tradeoff found in a very long zoom that we think most will find acceptable. That the Sony H5 does all its tricks with two AA batteries is impressive. Overall, given the low price and good performance, the Sony H5 is a bargain in a 7.2-megapixel 12X zoom, and a clear Dave’s Pick.”

Imaging Resource have reviewed the Sony Cybershot DSC-W70 a compact camera equipped with 7.2 megapixels resolution, a large 2.5 inch display and a 3x optical zoom. Designed for the beginning photographer the Cybershot W70 has an inbuilt user guide to simplify handling the camera.
The review result:
“It’s a very responsive camera, with low shutter lag in daylight conditions, and excellent shot to shot speeds. […] The bright 2.5-inch color LCD monitor is excellent for framing and reviewing shots, and the overall design and layout of the W70 is user-friendly and hassle-free. If you’re looking for a good “take anywhere” camera with great versatility and good color and tonality, the Sony DSC-W70 deserves a close look. […] One advantage that the W70 does offer over its lesser siblings is that its ISO 800 and 1000 settings produce images good enough to make 5×7 inch prints that we think most consumers would be happy with. All in all, a nice little package at an attractive price, making the Sony W70 another Dave’s Pick in its category.”

Imaging resource have reviewed the Sony Cybershot DSC-T30 digital camera. The Sony Cyber-shot DSC T30 is an ultra compact digital camera with 7.2 megapixel resolution, a 3x optical zoom and a very large 3 inch LCD screen. Optical image stabilization and high ISO sensitivity allow taking photos in low light situations and will reduce the risk of blurred picture results.
The review results:
“The DSC-T30 continues a Sony tradition of high quality in the subcompact category, packing more features into a smaller space than most anything else out there, but this time with the added bonus of optical image stabilization. Like those of other recent T-series models, we found the lens on the Sony T30 to be of higher than average quality for a subcompact camera, and image quality was quite good as a result. […]
Bottom line, this would be a great camera to take along on a vacation: Super compact, able to handle a wide range of conditions, and able to save a lot of shots from what would otherwise be fatal camera-shake blur. An easy Dave’s Pick as one of the more worthy digital cameras on the market, but I’d really like to see lower high-ISO image noise after dark.”
