Sony Cybershot DSC-T30 review at Digital Camera Info

Posted by Steve on 10th September 2006

sony cybershot dsc t30 reviewA review of the Sony Cybershot T30 is now available at Digital Camera Info. The Cybershot T30 in an ultra compact digital camera with 7.2 megapixel resolution, a 3x optical zoom and a very large 3 inch LCD screen. Optical image stabilization as well as high ISO sensitivity allow you to shoot fast moving action and in low light conditions, while these camera features reduce the risk of blurred images.

The review impression:
“The 7.2-megapixel Sony Cyber-shot DSC-T30 offers consumers a lot of style, some imaging capabilities, and little overall value. […] The image stabilization is effective in keeping shakes out of the 3x optical zoom, the 3-inch LCD screen is large and has good resolution […] The pictures from the Sony T30 look good and the movies garnered from the Pro card look good, but the quality still doesn’t justify the enormous price tag.”

“The Sony N1 is a fantastic camera. […]
1. The 8 megapixel imager produces surprisingly good images (at ISO 800 too!) and 2. the great 3 inch touch screen is sharp and viewable… and the N1 has above average battery life even with that LCD. The other versatile features include a powerful flash, some manual controls, an excellent movie mode and enhanced playback features. […]
Overall, the N1 receives a definite recommendation from me.”

Sony Alpha DSLR-A100 review at DCRP

Posted by Steve on 11th August 2006

sony alpha a100 reviewDCRP have reviewed the Sony Alpha DSLR-A100, a 10.2 megapixel DSLR camera with interesting features such as a stabilized image sensor, which means optical image stabilization no matter what lens you use, and a dust removal system that shakes off any dust that might have settled between the lens and the image sensor (a problem that each camera with interchangeable lenses has).

Here are some of the review impressions:
“With more than a little help from Konica Minolta, Sony has successfully entered the digital SLR arena with their Alpha DSLR-A100. With a high resolution 10.2 Megapixel sensor, built-in image stabilization and dust reduction systems, and super-fast performance, the A100 gives the competition a run for their money. Despite a few annoyances, the A100 offers quite a lot — and it earns my recommendation. […]
If you’re just starting out the DSLR-A100 is an intriguing choice. You get high resolution, image stabilization, dust reduction, and robust performance, plus a pretty good selection of lenses.”
