DigiCamReview have published a review of the Samsung Digimax i6. The Digimax i6 is an ultra compact digital camera offering 6 megapixel resolution and an integrated media player that supports video and audio (MP3 and MPEG 4).
The results of the review:
“The Samsung Digimax i6 is a great ultra compact digital camera. It provides good image quality with very richly saturated colours, has a great screen, and a built in 3x optical zoom lens. The camera is fairly easy to use if you can get used to the menu system. It feels well built in comfortable to use. The camera is a very complete package, there really is very little missing from this digital camera, it has an excellent macro mode, an excellent screen, video and audio recording, custom white balance, and built in advanced shake reduction. If you are in the market for an ultra compact digital camera with built in MP3 playback or built in video player then there is very little else to choose from. The digital camera would be very good value for money without the MP3 player or PMP, but with these features it’s excellent value for money. The camera does have some minor flaws, such as the wobbly connection on the bottom, and the confusing menu system, but if you can look past these issues then this is an excellent digital camera.”

A review of the Samsung Digimax L50 digital camera is available at imaging resource. The Samsung L50 is a compact 5 megapixel camera with a 2.5 inch LCD screen. It is equipped with both automatic and some manual controls and offers good value for money.
The review conclusion:
“The Samsung Digimax L50’s good looks and small size make it a welcome companion, and its big 2.5-inch color LCD monitor makes it an entertaining one, too. Though primarily designed for the point-and-shoot consumer interested in both style and portability, the L50 has some useful audio and video features as well. The 5.0-megapixel CCD captures high resolution images usable up to 11×14 inches, but they’re really sharp only to 8×10. The L50’s 2.8x optical zoom lens covers the most common shooting uses. We did have a few quibbles with it, mainly its enigmatic menuing system. It was a little slow focusing on kids indoors and out, unfortunately, and its low light and flash performance were weak. Though chroma noise and detail held together at high ISO, color washed out noticeably, making for a sickly look in photos of people. Still, we enjoyed shooting with the Samsung L50. It’s not a Dave’s Pick, but it is an impressive showing by Samsung in the subcompact arena.”

A review of the Samsung GX-1S digital camera has been posted at DigitalCameraInfo.
The Samsung GX-1S is a 6 megapixel dSLR camera with a 2.5 inch LCD display. It supports both JPEG and RAW image formats and is compatible with Pentax lenses. With a predicted price of around $800, the small and leightweight Samsung GX-1S is aimed at the ambitioned photographer who seeks an affordable entry into the dSLR camera range.
The review conclusion:
“[…] At under $800, the 6-megapixel GX-1S does have a lot to offer consumers. With a bright 2.5-inch 210,000 pixel LCD, strong color reproduction, and reasonable noise handling, the GX-1S is poised to compete with entry-level DSLRs and compact ultra zoom models. The camera has some nice design features (mirror lockup connected to the self timer, depth-of-field preview formed around the shutter release, and spot metering linked to movable AF points), but sacrifices speed and autofocus in the process.
[…] For consumers considering purchasing an ultra zoom, the high sensitivity, expanded functionality, and customization available on the GX-1S might be worth sacrificing the longer fixed lens. However, those interested in buying their first DSLR and investing in an imaging system might be better off saving a little extra money and purchasing a slightly stronger model.”

CNet Asia has posted a review of the Samsung Digimax i6 digital camera.
The Digimax i6 is an ultra compact digital camera offering 6 megapixel resolution and an integrated media player that supports video and audio (MP3 and MPEG 4).
The Digimax i6 scored 6.2 out of 10 points, a ‘good’ result.
The review summary:
“The good: Curved design improves grip and handling; doubles as portable media player; voice recorder; built-in photo frames.
The bad: Earphone jack gets in the way when taking pictures while listening to MP3; requires adapter to fix camera onto tripod; poor continuous shooting performance.
The bottom line: The Digimax i6 takes pictures and plays MP3 and videos. Just don’t expect too much by way of performance and image quality.”

A first impression review of the Samsung GX-1L digital camera is available at DigitalCameraInfo.
The review findings so far:
“We think the GX-1L is a respectable entry level option. We say that mainly because it seems to be a Pentax, which is a good thing for a few reasons. First, it shares Pentax’s durable construction, simple interface and other positive qualities. Second, it shares the Pentax lens mount, so it’s compatible with a large selection of Pentax system lenses and accessories. Third, Pentax has sent other emphatic signals that they are in the digital camera business for the long haul—and whether or not Samsung produces more DSLRs won’t really matter to the GX-1L owner, because Pentax will prove an upgrade path of fully compatible equipment.”

A review of the Samsung Digimax i50 digital camera is available at CNet Asia.

DCRP has posted a review of the Samsung Digimax A55W digital camera.
The review results:
“Camera performance was the A55W’s weak point. Startup speeds were average, and I found focus and shutter lag times to be bothersome. […] Photo quality also left something to be desired. […]
At this time, the Samsung Digimax A55W is the cheapest wide-angle camera you can buy. Unfortunately, the camera isn’t the best performer, so I’d recommend passing on it and spending the extra money for something a little more capable. […] The next step up is probably the Canon PowerShot S80 or the Panasonic Lumix DMC-LX1.”

DigitalCameraInfo has posted a first impression review of the Samsung V800 digital camera.
Their first comments:
“The V800 packs a lot of features into its small case: it provides a high level of manual control, plus image stabilization that works effectively in still and movie mode, the latter of which is very usable mode for capturing video. It shoots high resolution images and would be a good choice for the shooter who wants the simplicity of a point-and-shoot in a small package, but with the ability to dip into manual control occasionally.
But is it too good to be true? […] Only testing will tell if Samsung has seriously thrown down the gauntlet with this year’s offerings.”
