“If you’re looking for an ultra-compact camera that can deliver good quality pictures with a minimum of fuss, the Optio S6 should certainly be near the top of your list. It is well made, attractively designed, and is one of the smallest and lightest cameras on the market. Considering its very competitive price and the S6 is hard to beat.”

A review of the Pentax Optio WP digital camera is available at PCMag.
The result of the review: “Despite a number of limitations, the Optio WP makes shooting underwater stills and video incredibly easy and fun.”
The reviewer was impressed with the quality of the underwater photos for such an inexpensive camera and awarded the Pentax Optio WP a “good” rating (3 points out of 5).

DigitalCameraReview has posted a second review of the Pentax Optio WPi digital camera.
The review conclusion:
“The Pentax Optio WPi is a great choice if you’re looking for a waterproof camera (and don’t need to go to great depths). The waterproof, dustproof body has a rugged feel, but a stylish look. The camera also takes good, 6 megapixel images in a variety of conditions. I experienced good exposures in tough lighting situations, and good, if a bit saturated, colors. Noise levels were acceptable and the flash was enough to illuminate dark, normal-sized rooms.”

The results of the review:
“Pentax has yet again created a “cool” digicam that can capture great photos whether you’re at home, in the office, or taking a dip in the pool. With 6-megapixels, you have plenty of resolution to work with and will have no problem making beautiful 8×10-inch or larger prints. Priced at around $299, it offers an excellent value for such a versatile little camera.”
The reviewer was also impressed by the WPi’s good shooting performance and the battery life.

An initial review of the Pentax Optio E10 digital camera has been posted at DigitalCameraInfo.
Their first thoughts:
“It’s obvious that the E10 has been built to appeal to users on a budget. It’s not that the Pentax Optio E10 is a bad camera – it’s just that there really isn’t anything outstanding about it. In our limited testing, we found the image quality to be fair, but not great; there’s a certain amount of noise at the maximum ISO setting of 200, and this low maximum ISO will be a problem for low light shooting. […] The E10 is an inexpensive camera, and you get what you pay for.”

“Overall the Pentax Optio S6 proves to be a disappointment. Two key features of any digital camera are photo quality and a fast shutter response time. Sad to say the Optio S6 does not come up to scratch in either area. For me this is a step backwards for Pentax slimline digital cameras.”

The Pentax Optio A10 digital camera has been reviewed at DigitalCameraInfo.
Here is part of the first review impression:
“The A10 is a small, well-built compact camera, designed to be Pentax’s new flagship of their Optio line with the addition of a shake reductrion system.
[…] The lack of access to commonly-used manual controls is a big problem for a camera supposedly designed for more advanced users. […]
But it does an effective job as a point-and shoot camera: the image quality is strong (although we should point out that our testing was limited: further testing in our full review may prompt other conclusions), but thus far, it appears to be a good pick for a user who wants high resolution images in a convenient package. Here is part of the review conclusion:
“It’s not quite the performer we had hoped it wold be and like I stated above, image quality is average.
[…] We would recommend you look at some similar models like Sony’s Cyber-shot P200, Casio’s Exilim EX-Z750 or Canon’s PowerShot SD550 […]. All of these will offer you better image quality and performance, but still allow you to tuck it away in almost any size pocket or purse.”
