A review of the Panasonic Lumix DMC-FZ7 digital camera has been posted at PhotographyBlog. The Panasonic Lumix DMC-FZ7 is 6 megapixel camera equipped with an impressive 12 times optical zoom lens and image stabilization, which allows you to use the long zoom without using a tripod. Offering a range of exposure modes, raning from fully automatic or fully manual, and a selection of scene modes the Panasonic DMC-FZ7 should be of interest to both photography novices and ambitioned photographers.
The reviewer gave the DMC-FZ7 4 out of 5 points and writes:
“Overall, the Panasonic Lumix DMC-FZ7 is a stylish, easy to use, advanced camera with that 12x zoom lens as its main attraction. The noise issue is by no means a show-stopper, particularly if you live in a sunny climate or tend to shoot mostly outdoors, but it does stop me from recommending this camera more strongly. If you’re really interested in the massive focal range on offer, then the Panasonic Lumix DMC-FZ7 should definitely be on your shopping list..”

A review of the world’s smallest 10x optical zoom camera, the Panasonic DMC-TZ1 is available at CNet. Apart from the big zoom, which is supported by optical image stabilization, the Panasonic TZ1 features 5 megapixels resolution and a 2.5 inch display.
The Panasonic DMC-TZ1 achieved a ‘good’ rating, with 6.6 out of 10 points.
The review summary:
“The good: 10X optical zoom; optical image stabilization; cool flip-book movie mode.
The bad: No manual exposure controls; lots of noise in pictures taken at middle and high ISO levels; auto white balance produces warm shots under tungsten lighting.
The bottom line: With a big 10X zoom lens and optical image stabilization, Panasonic’s DMC-TZ1 looks enticing, but image-quality issues keep it from making the grade.”

The Panasonic Lumix DMC-TZ1 digital camera has been reviewed at DCRP. The Panasonic DMC-TZ1 is a compact ultra zoom camera with 5 megapixels resolution, an amazing 10 times optical zoom and a 2.5 inch LCD display. The TZ1 also comes with Panasonic’s optical image stabilization mitigate the effects of shaky hands and blurred pictures caused by long exposures, for example in low light situations.
The result of the review:
“If you want to know what I really think about the TZ1, this statement should sum it up for you: I bought one as a birthday gift for my dad. […]
Camera performance was excellent. The TZ1 starts up in a second, focuses very quickly (especially if you’re using the high speed AF modes), and there’s no shutter lag to speak of. […] Photo quality was very good in most respects. The TZ1 took well exposed photos with accurate colors and pleasing sharpness. Purple fringing was well controlled. My only real image quality complaints are with regard to noise and redeye. […]
All-in-all, I liked the DMC-TZ1 quite a bit — despite its flaws. If you want an ultra zoom camera that isn’t a burden to carry around then the TZ1 should be high on your list.”

DigiCamReview have reviewed the Panasonic Lumix DMC-TZ1 digital camera. The Panasonic DMC-TZ1 is currently the world’s smallest digital camera to feature a massive 10x optical zoom. On top of that the TZ1 features a 2.5 inch display and optical image stabilization.
The results of the review:
“The Panasonic Lumix DMC-TZ1 is a very good all round digital camera, compact and pocketable (in large pockets) yet features a Leica 10x optical zoom lens with image stabilisation. The camera produces very good images with excellent colour, saturation and exposure, assuming you use the lowest ISO settings. Purple fringing was slightly higher than average and was noticable in flash reflections on when using the full 10x optical zoom but isn’t a huge problem. If you want to record videos then this camera has a very good high resolution wide-aspect ratio video mode. The camera is very easy to use (in auto mode), and would definitely suit a beginner. The camera offers good battery life, with good controls, good build quality and quick performance. To finish things off, the Panasonic Lumix TZ1 is good value for money and therefore Recommended!”

* Extensive manual controls
* Good battery life
Cons

A review of the Panasonic Lumix DMC-TZ1 digital camera is available at ephotozine. The Panasonic TZ1 is currently the smallest ultra zoom camera, equipped with a 10x optical zoom lens. The DMC-TZ1 also features 5 megapixels resolutions and a large 2.5 inch LCD monitor, as well as optical image stabilization and high ISO sensitivity for good low light results and reduced blurred photos.
The review conclusion:
“The Lumix TZ1 does offer a lot of features. The 10x zoom, compact body and large clear LCD screen are the kind of features that will get you to part with your hard-earned cash when looking at the camera in a shop.
Unfortunately it also has its less obvious weak points. I was surprised by the levels of noise at all ISO sensitivities, and the image quality at the long end of the zoom is less than I expected from a ‘Leica’ lens. The drop in contrast and soft ethereal look the images have is less than satisfactory for me.
If however the compromises made are worth it for you, this is the only camera of its size with a 10x zoom, then nothing else will do.”

A review of the Panasonic Lumix DMC-LZ3 digital camera is available at DigiCamReview. As compact digital camera, the Panasonic Lumix LZ3 is equipped with a 5 megapixel sensor, a 6x optical zoom and a 2 inch LCD display.
They write:
“The LZ3 seems to have taken a step backwards in regards to image quality, with noticably high noise, and the occassional under exposed image. The camera has optical image stabilisation which helps in low light or when using the optical zoom. The camera is very easy to use (in auto mode), and would definitely suit a beginner. The camera offers good battery life, with good controls and good build quality. If you aren’t interested in sound on videos, then the LZ3 is definitely good value for money for a compact ultra zoom, however if image quality is a priority then it would be worth looking elsewhere.”

A review of the Panasonic Lumix DMC-LZ5 digital camera has been published at imaging resource. Despite being compact in size, the 6 megapixel Panasonic LZ5 is equipped with an impressive 6x optical zoom and a large 2.5 inch LCD screen. Panasonic’s optical image stabilizer reduces image blur commonly caused by low light situations or shaky hands.
The conclusion of the review:
“The Panasonic LZ5 did quite well overall in our testing, delivering good bright color, good resolution, and only moderate lens distortion. […] Shutter response was also on the slow side of what passes for average these days, and high-ISO shots were only usable up to a print size of 5×7 inches. All that said though, the Panasonic Lumix DMC-LZ5 delivers really excellent value and good picture quality at a surprisingly low price. (Especially so in light of its image stabilization, remarkable at this price point.) While not a first choice for sports or other fast-paced action, the Panasonic LZ5 is a great little “all-around” camera with a nice long zoom lens, all in a compact, inexpensive package.”
