HP Photosmart R707 review at dpreview

hp photosmart r707 reviewThe HP Photosmart R707 digital camera has been reviewed at dpreview.

Here is part of the review conclusion:
“First impressions of the R707 are overwhelmingly positive - it is beautifully built, feels ‘right’ in the hand and is responsive enough for most every day photography.
Shooting outdoors in good light the results are excellent; sharp […] Noise is well controlled […]
The R707 is far from perfect, but unless you shoot a lot of action or in a lot of dim bars I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend it as an ideal pocket camera […].
Highly recommended.”

hp photosmart r707 reviewImaging resource has reviewed the HP Photosmart R707 digital camera.

Here are some of the review outcomes:
“On the one hand, it captured good-looking photos with accurate color […].
[…] The R707’s built-in help, tips, and image advice features are unparalleled. On the downside though, the R707 apparently suffers in the lens department, as I found fairly severe optical artifacts in many of my photos.
If you mostly print your photos at 4×6 inches for photo albums and sharing with friends or family, it’s unlikely that you’ll notice any of the issue I just mentioned. In that usage, the PhotoSmart R707 would make an excellent consumer camera, and you’re likely to be very happy with it.”

HP Photosmart 945 review at imaging resource

hp photosmart 945 reviewA review of the HP Photosmart 945 digital camera is available at imaging resource.

Here is an extract of the review conclusion:
“For people making primarily 4×6 or 5×7 prints from their digicam files, the noise that I saw and objected to really won’t be all that visible.
[…] If you’re a former “point & shoot” user looking for an easy step up to the next level, the 945 could be just the ticket. If you’re looking for a flexible camera that’ll help you make the most of poor lighting with a minimum of manual control twiddling, the Hewlett Packard Photosmart 945 could be what you’ve been waiting for. “

HP Photosmart R817 reviewA review of the HP Photosmart R817 digital camera has been published at DCRP.

Here is an extract of the review conclusion:
“Camera performance is very good […].
Every R817 user will appreciate the exclusive HP features on the R817 including in-camera redeye reduction and panorama stitching […].
Photo quality was very good for the most part […]. The R817 finally has a nice movie mode […].
As long as you’re not taking multi-second exposures the R817 is a camera that gets my recommendation. It has a ton of genuinely useful features, with very few gimmicks. If you want a compact camera with more zoom than other cameras, check out the Photosmart R817 […].”

HP Photosmart R817 reviewLast month Photographyblog posted a review of the HP Photosmart R817 digital camera.

The reviewer’s conclusion:
“Small, compact and very stylish body, lots of innovative features like Adaptive Lighting that really make a difference, full manual controls and a 5x optical zoom lens that sets it apart from the competition.
This is a digital camera that I really enjoyed using and which will suit both beginner and more experienced photographer alike. Unfortunately there is one big fly in the ointment, namely noisy images […]. All in all, the Photosmart R817 is something of a missed opportunity for HP.”

HP Photosmart M407 review at Photographyblog

Posted by Steve on 22nd November 2005

hp photosmart m407 reviewPhotographyblog has posted a review of the HP Photosmart M407 digital camera.

This is the result of the review:
“It is ideally suited to complete beginners to photography, as HP have put a tremendous amount of effort into making it simple to understand and operate. The great help system, accessible external controls and simple, uncluttered menu system all combine to make the M407 one of the most approachable digicams available. On the other hand, many key areas fail to impress. The camera’s feature list, performance and image quality are all ordinary, which is perhaps to be expected when it costs less than £150[…].
You could do a lot worse than the HP Photosmart M407, but you could also do quite a lot better. If useability is at the top of your list of requirements then the HP Photosmart M407 is definitely worth considering[…].”

HP Photosmart 945 review at Photographyblog

Posted by Steve on 22nd November 2005

hp photosmart 945 reviewThe HP Photosmart 945 digital camera has been reviewed at Photographyblog.

This is the conclusion of the review:
“The HP Photosmart 945 is a digital camera that promises a lot and delivers on some of those promises, but not all.
The extensive Help system and Digital Flash are innovations that are exclusive to HP and that really make a difference. On the other hand, the high levels of noise at ISO 200 and above and the poor playback options only serve to annoy and make you forget about what HP have got right.
So can this one year old camera hold its own in what has become a very crowded marketplace? Well, the attractive prices on offer do go some way to making up for what the camera lacks, and it undoubtedly has some great features, so I would answer yes, if you can live with the shortcomings.”
