Canon PowerShot A530 review at dpinterface

Posted by Steve on 21st August 2006

canon powershot a530 reviewA review of the Canon PowerShot A530 digital camera is available at dpinterface. The ultra compact Canon Powershot A530 offers 5 megapixels resolution and a 4 times optical zoom. Despite its small size, the Powershot A530 has some impressive features, such as an optical viewfinder, both automatic and manual exposure modes, as well as standard batteries as a power source.

The review recommendation:
“I’ll make this short and simple, the A530 is a watered down A540 which sells at a lower price. Things like battery life and image quality are still good and the full manual mode is a plus. Performance was snappy too. […]
My point here is, if you’re looking at the A530, then go for the A540. It’s a better deal.”

canon powershot a530 reviewImaging resource have reviewed the Canon PowerShot A530 digital camera. The Canon Powershot A530 is an ultra compact digital camera with 5 megapixels resolution and a 4 times optical zoom. Unlike most other ultra compact cameras, the Powershot A530 is equipped with an optical viewfinder and accommodates both point and shoot photographers as well as more experienced photographers with its range of exposure modes.

Here is part of the review conclusion:
“Its combination of automatic and manual features make the Canon A530 very approachable for novices, but still interesting for experienced users, the net result being a camera that will satisfy a broad range of interests and provide a good path for novice users to expand their photographic horizons as their experience grows. […] Movie mode is present, but somewhat lacking in terms of frame rate. Still, the A530 is a camera that will meet the needs of the average consumer very well. It’s an easy Dave’s Pick.”

Canon Powershot A700 review at ephotozine

canon powershot a700 reviewA review of the Canon Powershot A700 is available at ephotozine. The Canon PowerShot A700 is a compact, 6 megapixel digital camera. It features a 2.5 inch display and a 6 times optical zoom.
The camera should be suitable to both inexperienced and demanding photographers alike, as it features both fully automatic and pre programmed scene modes, as well as full manual settings.

The conclusion of the camera test:
“Great image quality in good light, coupled with good handling and a very useful 6x zoom lens definitely make this camera worthy of consideration.

Although it may not perform the best in low light when compared directly with the competition, it isn’t a poor performer. If you require the extra controls, AA battery support or the extra range of the 6x zoom lens then this could be the camera for you.”
