Overview
The Sony Cybershot DSC W70 is an easy to use and very compact digital camera, ideal for the beginning photographer or as a ‘take anywhere’ camera. The Sony W70 offers 7.2 megapixels resolution, a large 2.5 inch display and a 3x optical zoom. The Sony Cyber-shot DSC T30 is an ultra compact digital camera with 7.2 megapixel resolution, a 3x optical zoom and a very large 3 inch LCD screen. Optical image stabilization reduces the risk of blurred photos caused by camera movement, while the high ISO 1000 sensitivity mode allows you to take pictures in low light conditions without using the flash. Sony’s noise reduction system keeps picture noise (similar to grainy photos when using high ISO traditional film) to a minimum when using this high sensitivity.

The Sony Cybershot DSC H5 is a 7.2 megapixel ultra zoom camera with a focal length of 36-432mm, 35mm equivalent. This translates to a massive 12 times optical zoom. The zoom is supported by optical image stabilization, which reduces the effects of camera shake and therefore the risk of blurred pictures, especially when making use of the full zoom range or taking pictures where little light is available. As you would expect, the camera has fully manual exposure controls, but can also be used by camera novices, thanks to the fully automatic shooting mode, as well as the array of preset scene modes.

The Sony Cybershot W70 digital camera has been reviewed at DPInterface. The Sony DSC-W70 is a 7.2 megapixel camera with a large 2.5 inch screen and a 3x optical zoom. As an ultra portable camera it is small enough to fit in a shirt pocket and ideal to take anywhere. The Cybershot W70 features an ISO 1000 sensitivity mode which helps reduce camera blur in low light situation or for fast moving objects.
Here are some of the review results:
“The W70 has an above average battery life rating of 360 shots and 58 MB of built-in memory. The W70 is expandable with a wide range of accessories and what a better way to preview your new conversion lens or filter effects via the 2.5 inch LCD? The LCD is not very sharp and visible though.
Despite the good macro mode, image quality and movie mode, I’ve the usual quirks about the W70’s performance: Things are not as fast as some modern day competitors (Hint hint… Panasonic) and the movie mode is too simple. Like other compact cameras, the W70 doesn’t have any manual controls either.”
