Press Release
With nine million effective pixels the FinePix E900 delivers the current (as of July 2005) highest resolution of all consumer cameras. Thanks to this resolution reserve even poster size prints or clear extract enlargements are no problem and do not result in any loss of detail. The exceptionally sharp and low-noise pictures which result even at the maximum sensitivity setting of ISO 800 is thanks to the E 900 Fujifilm’s Real Photo technology. The combination of the new RP processor with the fifth-generation Super CCD and the Fujinon lens, which in the FinePix F10 already caused a furore in the trade due to the exceptional picture quality at the high sensitivity ranges, also stands for intelligent light management, high processing speed and marked reduction in the risk of blurred pictures in the E 900. As the gain in the usable light sensitivity allows shorter shutter speeds, the Real Photo technology counteracts the risk of blurring when photographing by hand and any blurriness caused by a fast moving subject. The camera grip, which has been specially designed for particularly ergonomic photographing and is attached to the trendy black and silver-metallic molded body, contributes to this “steady hand”. Along with reliable automatic functions, the E900 is equipped with a multitude of manual setting possibilities, so that even the taking of photos in unusual situations can be accomplished. Main characteristics
(1) The FinePix E 900 currently offers the highest resolution of all consumer cameras. With a resolution of 9 million effective pixels and photosensitivity of ISO 800 the newly developed 1/1.6 inch Super CCD HR sensor is a milestone in the compact class. It captures even the finest details of scenes in a true to life fashion, and large-size prints are no problem.
(2) With the FinePix E 900 the user need no longer worry about whether the choice of a high ISO sensitivity might cause excessive image noise with his camera. Thanks to the Real Photo technology the FinePix E 900 can take low-noise images at low as well as high ISO settings. The Real Photo technology also comes good with the picture quality – the high photosensitivity contributes especially to the shortening of shutter speeds so as to avoid blurriness, which can result from camera shaking or quick moving subjects.
(3) Ambient light
When one picks the ambient light mode from the mode wheel, the camera automatically turns off the flash and at the same time regulates light sensitivity and shutter speed for the desired result – ideal requirements for natural looking picture results without interference from the flash.
(4) 4x optical zoom (32 mm to 128 mm compact image equivalence); together with the 7.6x digital zoom a 30.4x total zoom effect is possible.
(5) The short time of only 1.3 seconds needed to turn on the camera and a release delay of just 0.01 seconds (pre-focused) means that the E900 photographer is also always equipped for unexpected scenes・ The real time histogram supports the choice of the correct exposure before photo-taking and when required allows the specific application of exposure correction.・ Before photographing, the overexposure warning signals any areas in the live image that are too bright [marked with color-coding???]. ・ comprehensively equipped with automatic programs so as to accommodate the different requirements of the user – Auto / P / S / A / M / Ambient light / Portrait / Sport / Night / Video ・ High-quality video recordings are possible (VGA resolution, 30 images/second).
(7) Rechargeable Ni-MH batteries and a battery charger are included in the delivery.
