A review of the Canon PowerShot A430 digital camera is available at imaging resource.
The review summary:
“Featuring a 4.0-megapixel CCD, 4x optical zoom, automatic exposure control with a wide range of preset shooting modes, and a real bargain price, the PowerShot A430 does a great job of holding up Canon’s sterling reputation at the low end of their line. Built on the same long-tested design as many A-series predecessors, the Canon A430 delivers a lot of features, great image quality, and tremendous value in a compact package designed for novices […] With an initial suggested retail price of just $179 (and widely available online for much less), the A430 is an especially good bargain for an all-around consumer model.”

The Samsung Digimax GX-1S dSLR camera has been reviewed at Popular Photography. The Samsung GX-1S is a fairly compact and lightweight dSLR camera with 6.1 megapixels resolution and a large 2.5 inch LCD display.
The review verdict:
“As far as introductions go, Samsung could’ve done far worse than the GX-1S, with its nice handling, pleasing picture quality, and compatibility with scads of existing lenses. But it’s also an aging platform whose resolution trails that of the rest of the league. And in the hot DSLR category, “good enough” is rarely good enough.”

TrustedReviews have looked at the Panasonic Lumix DMC-FX9 digital camera. The Panasonic Lumix DMC FX9 is an ultra compact digital camera with 6 megapixels resolution, a 3x optical zoom supported optical image stabilization, and a 2.5 inch display.
With 4 points out of 10, the FX9 received a rather disappointing review result.
The reviewers’ opinion:
“Although it looks great, performs well and has the Leica name above the lens, the Panasonic Lumix DMC-FX9 fails to deliver the expected picture quality, especially considering the cost when compared to many other 6MP ultra-compacts. A very disappointing camera from a company that can do better.”

A review of the Fujifilm FinePix V10 digital camera is available at imaging resource. The Fujifilm Finepix V10 is an ultra compact 5.1 megapixel camera with a 3.4x optical zoom and a very large 3 inch LCD display. The Finepix V10 also comes with 4 built-in games, a first in digital cameras.
The review impression:
“There’s a lot to like on the Fujifilm FinePix V10. It’s a sleek and snazzy snapshooter with a huge 3-inch LCD with very good resolution that makes composing shots on the live screen and image playback a joy. The Fujifilm V10 is also reasonably responsive, powering on quickly and moving briskly from shot to shot so you’re always ready to take pictures. […] Under low light and more contrasty conditions, however, the Fujifilm V10 fared less well despite its vaunted “low-noise” high ISO settings of 800 and 1,600: a disappointment. […]
What the games do provide is a way to show off the Fujifilm V10’s fabulous screen, which, along with camera’s great design and excellent usability, warrant a recommendation, but just miss out on a Dave’s Pick.”

A review of the Kodak Easyshare C663 digital camera is available at cameras.co.uk. The Easyshare C633 is an easy to use point and shoot camera with 6.1 megapixels resolution, a 3x optical zoom and a 2.5 inch display.
The review conclusion:
“Points I like:
Ease of use
Build quality
Viewfinder
Low shutter delay
Where it is not so hot:
Some photos are dark
Red eye
Summary
I found the Kodak Easyshare C663 to be a bit of a mixed bag. If you are looking for a point and shoot digital camera then this model is one of the most straightforward you can find. Photo quality is below that of some other similarly priced digital cameras though.”

DCRP have reviewed the dual lens Kodak EasyShare V610 digital camera. According to Kodak, the Easyshare V610’s two lenses make it the world’s smallest 10x optical zoom camera. The V610 is also equipped with Bluetooth for wireless image transfer and offers 6.1 megapixels optical resolution as well as a large 2.8 inch display.
Here are some of the review results:
“Camera performance was good in most respects. The V610 starts up quickly, focus times are decent, and shutter lag wasn’t a problem. There wasn’t much of a delay between shots, either. […]
Photo quality was a mixed bag. On the positive side, photos were well-exposed with saturated colors (maybe a little too much so) and minimal purple fringing. The downsides include above average noise (which smudges the details of the photos) and lots of blurring around the corners of the frame. […]
Overall I have mixed feelings about the EasyShare V610. I like the idea of having a compact ultra zoom camera, but I’d prefer one with better photo quality and battery life (to name a few things). With a retail price of $450, the V610 is expensive.”
