Nikon Coolpix 7600 review at imaging resource

Posted by Steve on 21st January 2006

nikon coolpix 7600 reviewThe Nikon Coolpix 7600 digital camera has been reviewed at imaging resource.

The results of the review:
“The Nikon Coolpix 7600 would be a good choice for anyone who wants an easy to use camera that delivers good-looking pictures with pleasing color and plenty of resolution. For those willing to delve just slightly deeper than “just pushing the button,” its extensive scene modes and unique framing-assist options greatly extend the camera’s capabilities […]. All in all, a good choice for the point & shoot user looking for an easy to use, compact digicam with a surprising range of capabilities.
[…] Considering its workmanlike performance, strong feature set and relatively few weaknesses, I came close to awarding the Coolpix 7600 Dave’s Picks status.”

Panasonic Lumix DMC-FZ30 review at imaging resource

Posted by Steve on 21st January 2006

panasonic lumix dmc fz30 reviewA review of the Panasonic Lumix DMC-FZ30 digital camera has been posted at imaging resource.

Here is part of their conclusion:
“Image quality overall is very good, with excellent resolution and sharpness and bright, saturated but hue-accurate color.
[…] With a full range of exposure control modes, including a full manual setting and no less than 14 preset “Scene” modes, the DMC-FZ30 is an approachable camera for both novices and more experienced users alike.
Bottom line, the Panasonic Lumix FZ30 is a very strong player at the upper end of the all-in-one digital camera field, and represents an excellent bargain for anyone interested in a long zoom range, optical stabilization, high resolution, and responsive performance. We’d like to see less image noise at higher ISOs, but the FZ30 is a virtual shoo-in for a Dave’s Pick.”

Panasonic Lumix LX1 review at digital-lifestyles

Posted by Steve on 20th January 2006

panasonic lumix dmc lx1 reviewA review of the Panasonic Lumix LX1 digital camera has been published at digital-lifestyles.

The conclusion of the review:
“The Lumix LX1 is in many ways the perfect digital compact, offering a feast of features for demanding prosumers with enough automated modes to please the point’n’shoot brigade.
Offering unparalleled handling, […] superb optics, fast handling and RAW capability, the camera is capable of producing astonishingly good results.
The only thing stopping us awarding the LX1 a frothing-at-the-mouth ten out of ten rating is its poor high ISO handling - but if you’re prepared to work within the camera’s limitations, you can expect to be rewarded with a camera capable of the very, very highest results.”

Sanyo Xacti C6 review at Steve’s Digicams

Posted by Steve on 20th January 2006

sanyo xacti c6 reviewA review of the Sanyo Xacti C6 digital (video) camera is available at Steve’s Digicams.

The review conclusion:
“Like its predecessors, the Sanyo Xacti VPC-C6 is an awesome “hybrid” digicam/tape less video recorder. With the ability to be slipped into almost any size pocket or handbag, this camera’s agile performance and great 6-megapixel images ensures that you will be able to savor those special moments for years to come. We feel the C6 will make a great choice for anyone, whether for the family, business or adventure seeker. With an MSRP of around $599, it’s a bit expensive but, it does offer a great “bang for you buck”, and the ability to be used by both left- and right-handed user adds to its appeal.”
