DCRP has posted a review of the Samsung Digimax A55W digital camera.
The review results:
“Camera performance was the A55W’s weak point. Startup speeds were average, and I found focus and shutter lag times to be bothersome. […] Photo quality also left something to be desired. […]
At this time, the Samsung Digimax A55W is the cheapest wide-angle camera you can buy. Unfortunately, the camera isn’t the best performer, so I’d recommend passing on it and spending the extra money for something a little more capable. […] The next step up is probably the Canon PowerShot S80 or the Panasonic Lumix DMC-LX1.”

A review of the Fujifilm FinePix E900 digital camera has been published by DigitalCameraInfo.
The review results:
“The FinePix E900 is a very solid compact camera, with unusually high resolution, good color and image quality, good manual controls and a well-crafted interface. It’s a sensible upgrade from standard compact cameras for users who want to use manual controls, either to learn how to use them, or because they already know how.
[…] Great image quality, great control and really nothing extra. Get the E900 to shoot sharp, big files with good color, and you’ll have to put up with a small LCD and do without manual focus. Well, it’s probably worth it.”

The Olympus SP 500 digital camera has been reviewed at cameras.co.uk.
While the reviewer missed an image stabilization feature, the camera design, the overall picture quality, the useful help feature for the camera menu and last but not least the low price tag of the the SP 500 makes it a very recommendable camera.
The review conclusion:
“The Olympus SP-500 is well worth considering if you’re looking for a digital camera with an extended zoom lens. It has an extensive feature set and it is priced competitively. Picture quality is very good and there are very few obvious downsides to this camera.”

Their review recommendation:
“The Olympus SP-500 has many advanced features and should prove attractive to both beginners and more advanced photographers. It is easy to get good results with this camera, and so it makes a good family camera. The high degree of control it allows the photographer also makes it a good choice for photography students.”

Steve’s Digicams has published a review of the Casio Exilim EX-Z120 digital camera.
The review results:
“As 2005 has become 2006, Casio’s Exilim EX-Z120 has pushed 7-megapixels of resolution to near entry-level affordability. With a street price of around $250, you also get very good image quality, responsive performance, very good low light AF performance and a wealth of features that will please both the beginner and experienced photographer. While its LCD is only 2-inches, that allowed Casio to equip the EX-Z120 with an optical viewfinder - a good trade-off in my opinion.”

A review of the Nikon Coolpix P2 digital camera is available at ephotozine.
The review results:
“There is no doubt that this is a quality, feature packed digital camera. The image quality and vast array of menus and features create plenty of opportunities for create photography, whether you are an advanced photographer or not. The camera is also built well, with a very well thought out design, making control of the cameras huge set of features a doddle.
The wireless facility could be a really useful feature for a person on the go. The fact I couldn’t connect consistantly would worry me if I wanted to rely on using this feature.”

A review of the Sony Cybershot DSC-T5 digital camera has been posted at TrustedReviews.
The review verdict:
“Ultra-slim design and a good array of options cannot compensate for very low picture quality. Image noise, over-processing, lens distortion and purple fringing all conspire to ruin what could have been a nice little snapshot camera. Add in questionable handling and some flimsy components and it’s game over for the DSC-T5.”
The DSC-T5 was awarded 5 out of 10 points overall score.

DigiCamReview has reviewed the Fujifilm FinePix S5600 digital camera, also known as the FinePix S5200.
They write in their conclusion of the review:
“The Fujifilm FinePix S5600 is a good ultra zoom digital camera, better than it’s predecessor […]. The easy to use camera offers very speedy performance, good battery life, a good camera body and controls, and good image quality, although with higher than average purple fringing, and slightly soft images. The high ISO settings may come in handy on occasion, at the cost of image quality. I would recommend this camera, especially to people who like it’s SLR styling, and rubber body, as it is a good camera, and the cameras negatives are mainly minor complaints, but due to the very good competition, I would recommend having a look at some of the other ultra zooms featuring image stabilisation.”
